Buenos Aires is a large city, with 48 neighborhoods, each one has its own essence, its particular characteristic.
Walk with me through an ‘‘ off the beaten track ’’ area with a feminist theme, depicted by street murals.
I have prepared this tour to make you feel that you are right there with me, feeling the area and the stories, getting to know more about the past and present of feminist movement in my country and the global impact that it has.
We will begin the tour visiting a beautiful and big mural, which tells the story of an important Argentine singer, who even today continues to conquer the hearts of all Argentines. This will give you the opportunity to also get to know about the local music. Then, a few meters from the train tracks that cross the neighborhood, we will see a mural that represents the struggle and empowerment, the feminist cry that crossed the Atlantic and became, by necessity, an international feeling. Towards the end of our tour we will see two other murals, and I will tell you about a transit residence for female adolescents. We will talk about a warrior that represented the thousands of anonymous women who fought for the emancipation of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata (she fought even while pregnant) and lost her children in the fight against the troops of the Spanish conquest.
What do these murals represent for us? What is the past and present of feminist movements in Argentina? I will answer this and many more questions on this tour. The history of women in my country is also part of the struggle of all women in the world, this time, I welcome you to experience it … through street art.

I have loved the narrative and how through the murals Joy creates a dynamic journey full of popular culture and musical references. An inclusive look at the current moments and past events of the women’s movement in Argentina. Definitely recommendable for all genders and ages!!!
