Kantu

My full name is Kantu Valer Melgar, everyone calls me Kantu: it is the Quechua name for the national flower of Peru. I was born in Cusco and I grew up with my grandmother Adela and my father Josmar in a very traditional town at the southeast of Cusco called San Jeronimo.
My father is also a tour guide, and he taught me everything about our culture and history - that is why I became a guide too. I have a bachelor's degree in Tourism form the National University of Cusco.
It's been 9 years now since I gave my first tour and I still have the same passion and love for what I do. My job has given me so many great opportunities to grow as a person, experience fantastic places and meet amazing people!
