The walking tour will start with the perfect spot in Bagan, where you can see over 3000 religious monuments from one place – the perfect introduction to Bagan’s history and its ancient monuments. Their architecture is stunning and the level of detail extraordinary in the world.
We will visit the most beautiful temple of Bagan called Ananda, which is a masterpiece of Burmese art and architecture, where you can compare the architectural styles of India and Myanmar.
We will then walk around the Palace Excavation Site. The old palace was built in 9th century AD. It was destroyed by Mongo in 1287 AD Century. But the palace wall and one of the 12 gates are remaining in their original form. Nowadays it’s an excavation site of Archeological Department. Walking around the palace will tell you so much about the history of Bagan.
We will continued with Thatbyinnyu Temple, the temple which reflects the Bagan’s period of “innovative architectural and artistic creativity” and is “an expression of the self-confident Burmese spirit of nationhood”. At the pinnacle height of 66 m (217 ft), the five-story Thatbyinnyu is known as the tallest temple in Bagan. We will explore the area around the temple to enjoy the beauty and impressive architecture of this period while I tell you all about Bagan’s fascinating history .
