Buongiorno guys!

You’ve never been to Venice, but you would like to know more about the city, how it was built in a marshland?

This live tour will show you the beauty of the most iconic monuments of Venice, but it will also take you behind the scenes to see the real Venice. I’ll guide you by hand through this Venice adventure and will be really happy to answer any questions you have or show you anything specific you want to see!

The walk will start right by the most famous bridge of Venice, the Rialto: 500 years old and freshly restored. We will be able to admire the Grand Canal, which is our main street, but we will also visit the less travelled canals in order to see the differences! We will be able to admire the most spectacular Palazzi along the Grand Canal, see where Mr George Clooney got married, discover where movies like 007 Casino Royal, Spiderman, The merchant of Venice, Mickey Mouse Gondolier and many others has been filmed!

I will take you to see the most spectacular tower in Venice, Scala Contarini del Bovolo, that looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. We will talk about Carnival and the most famous means of transport here: the gondolas! And of course the highlight of our walk: Piazza San Marco and its basilica, but not without the cafe Florian and the Doges Palace! Our experience will end enjoying the view over the bridge of sights, the bay of St. Mark and the beginning of the Grand Canal.

This is a spectacular way to get to know the city from the eyes of a local.

I’m looking forward to walking with you! Ciao a presto!

The town was beautiful, but the experience was much better with Igor leading the way. He’s full over character and provided many stories along the way. His knowledge of the history and culture of the area was conveyed to the group in a fun way that felt like conversation with a friend while strolling through the town.

    Thanks Igor!

Igor

I’m Igor (that’s pronounced ee-gor, in case you are wondering!) and although you may not think it’s an Italian name, I am 100% Italian.

I grew up in this area, between Treviso and Venice and I’m incredibly passionate about my region and the two cities.

I studied tourism - in Italy we have a special type of high school dedicated to tourism - and languages and I have been working in this sector since I graduated. I started in a hotel near Venice, then moved to one in London, which was an amazing experience.

When I came back to Italy, I moved to with Globus and travelled all over Europe, from Portugal to Russia and the North Cape to Greece. Seeing so many places was great and I learned a lot meeting people from all over the world.

In 2007, my grand tour ended, and I came home to Venice, where I qualified to work as a guide in the Veneto region (yes, in Italy you need a licence to work as a guide). I love taking my guests around this wonderful region, showing them all the fantastic treasures we have here. Whether you would like a tour of Venice, or a tailored, escorted experience with hotels, transfers and visits, let me be your Venetian expert!

If you have questions you’d like answered or have no idea where to start planning your trip, get in touch with me and I will help you with suggestions, hints and bookings. I’ve been listed in Rick Steves’ guides to Venice, Italy and Europe since 2008, so I must be doing something right 😉
