Jo napot! My name is Monika, your Hungarian Budapest tour guide. I was born and raised here in Budapest, Hungary during the Communist Era. I have a few childhood memories from that era that I think you will find interesting and helpful to understand Eastern Europe.
I also lived for 15 years in New York, US, and worked there as a travel agent before I have relocated back to Budapest and started working as a travel guide/tour director in Budapest and in Eastern Europe.
I love my job! Having fun with you during our walking tours, sharing, teaching about art, history, local food is my passion. I am particularly interested in showing you hidden courtyards, ornamented doorknobs, off-path curiosities besides the mainstream "must-see things" of Budapest. I am a devoted fan of our coffeehouse and strudel culture so you bet we will wind up some way to this delicious topic:)).
