This tour will take you around the most important sights around Split city centre.  On our tour you will learn about the history of Split and hear an amazing story about how Roman palace turned into a city.  Split has more than 1700 years of history and it’s a unique example in the whole world of a living, breathing city that grew inside of an ancient roman palace! Walking along the Split city centre I will also tell you about local culture and traditions.

We will start our tour on Riva promenade – the waterfront in Split city centre. Today this promenade is the living room of Split, the most popular and most important public place in the city. We will walk to one of the entrances of Diocletian’s palace – the Brass gate, and enter the Substructures of Diocletian’s palace. The Diocletian Palace Substructures represent one of the best preserved ancient complexes of their kind in the world. Our tour continues to the Peristil square, the central square of the Palace. There I will show you the Vestibul and the Cathedral of St Domnius. From Peristil square we will continue walking along the street Cardo and we will be heading to the Golden gate  – the most important entrance to the palace, the gate through which Emperor Diocletian entered the Palace in the year 305. We will finish our tour next to the statue of Gregory of Nin. This 8.5 metre (28 ft) tall and 13 tons heavy statue by Ivan Meštrović is a much visited sight in town.

This tour is a private tour and I can adjust it to you and your interests. I hope that after the tour you will see why Split is so popular with tourists and why locals love to live here. I hope you will enjoy this tour and my hometown.

This was an amazing experience! It’s something that I have never done before – I wasn’ sure what to expect from a virtual live walking tour…

But the tour I took with Lea was well worth it, It was one of the best city tours I’ve ever taken and the time just flew by.

Lea was quite knowledgeable with regard to the history of the city, the Palace and local customs. The tour was very thorough and Lea made it all lots of fun.

I would highly recommend Lea and I cannot wait to try some other virtual live tours in all corners of the world!

Thank you Lea for an awesome time!

Hello! My name is Lea, Split is my hometown and I'm a licensed tour guide for Split-Dalmatia, Dubrovnik-Neretva and Šibenik-Knin county in Croatia, in Croatian, English and Spanish language. I was born in Split, I have been living here for more than 20 years and I'm passionate about sharing its beauty and culture!

I got my Master's degree in Marketing, at Faculty of Economics here in Split. Following my university studies, I moved to Barcelona to do an internship before returning back to Split. I have always enjoyed learning languages, travelling and experiencing different cultures. Soon after graduation I have realised that office job doesn't suit me and I started to work as a tour guide, which was the best decision I have ever made!

When I'm not tour guiding, I love to learn languages - I can speak basic french and portuguese. Yoga is also one of my passions, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) by International Yoga Alliance.
Local gastronomy has always interested me, so I decided to do a course for a wine consultant to get to know more about the rich wine history in Croatia.

In my free time, I love long walks with my dog and reading books.

It will be a pleasure to be your guide and welcome you to my wonderful hometown and region.
