The city of Cádiz, a port on the Atlantic shore of Spain, has been around, believe it or not, for almost 3000 years! A vibrant medium size city with a beautiful old city centre, it is an important summer destination for Spanish holiday makers who enjoy both cultural heritage and  wonderful golden sand beaches.

Its location on the Southern most region of Spain, made it the last port of call when traveling to the Americas. As a consequence a wealthy and highly educated bourgeoisie built their homes in elegant streets and charming squares that we can still enjoy nowadays.

Merchants going back and forth the Americas took and brought goods, ideas, influences, music … This is why, when you visit Havana and then come to Cádiz, or the other way around, they look so much alike: architecture, old military bastions, the sea always there … To the extent that Cádiz has played the role of Havana in many movies, including James Bond’s Die Another Day.
