Product Description
You are invited to explore with me the authentic Athenian neighbourhood of Pangrati, hidden just beyond the most touristic hotspots of Athens!
Right behind the Panathenaic Stadium the only one in the world built entirely out of marble, one can witness the struggle of Greece to sort out its ancient past with a modern future.
Starting our walk from the spot where Sokrates expressed his ideas about love we will walk along the alleys and squares of the area that most of the Greek intellectuals used to live and which, the recent years, has developed as one of the most vibrant areas of Athens. We will walk among modernist architecture blocks from the 60s and neoclassical residencies from 19th century, urban busy roads to small narrow streets that makes you feel like you are on holidays in a Greek island. On our path we will come accross Greek delis, ceramics shops and indie galleries which share streets with pizzerias, casual tavernas and gourmet restaurants. Then, from an almost hidden entrance among a forest of pine trees we will encounter one of the best views in Athens, overlooking the Panathenaic stadium, the Acropolis, the Lycabettus hill and much more.
If you want to be rewarded with the feeling of having stumbled upon a neighbourhood as green as the suburbs as eclectic in style as downtown and most of all with a genuinely authentic Athenian pulse, then come “Walk With Me”!
