Product Description
We start our walk at the seafront area of Funchal’s pier. This is where the Portuguese first arrived in Madeira in 1419. From here we uncover the history, the gardens and the life of the Madeirans. We will visit the charming city centre, some of its main squares and historical sites, for example Funchal’s C
Cathedral which was for more than 30 years the Head of Diocese for the Great Portuguese Empire in the sixteenth century. On our visit we will go to the fruit, fish and vegetable Market near the Santa Maria street, the oldest part of Madeira’s capital.
