Product Description

Established in 1887, Neve Tzedek is the first Jewish neighborhood to be built outside the walls of ancient Jaffa. In this video call walking tour we’ll follow the footsteps of pioneers who laid the ground for what will later become Tel Aviv – the first Hebrew city in the world.

We’ll start at the Suzanne Dellal Centre – the former schools of the neighborhood. We will also visit Chelouche Street and hear about the Chelouche family and its role in the development of Tel Aviv, shedding light on the connection between Jews and Arabs, between Jaffa and Tel Aviv.

During our tour we’ll get to know a Nobel laureate who used to live in Neve Tzedek and hear a story about the woman with whom he fell in love with. Our tour will also pass by the Nahum Gutman Art Museumand the Rokach House. The ending point will be the first cinema in town – Eden Cinema.

It’s a historic tour, but not a history lesson – there’s no test at the end 🙂 I try to tell stories that would be most interesting and relatable to tour participants. We’ll be touring for up to 1 hour, in which I hope you’ll learn more about the history, culture and architecture of this charming neighbourhood – Neve Tzedek.
