Shahjahanabad o Old Delhi, its situated in the north part of Delhi. it was founded by fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1639 at the bank of river Yamuna, when the emperor decided to shift the Mughal capital from Agra. The construction of the city was completed in 1648, and it remained the capital of the Mughal Empire until its fall in 1857, when the British Raj took over as paramount power in India.
Without visiting “old Delhi’, visit to capital of India is uncompleted. This is one of the oldest areas of Delhi, a tangle of ancient streets and alleyways, filled with all kinds of shops, food and tea stalls, jam packed with people.

Old Delhi is famous for its historical building such as Jama Masjid mosque, Red Fort and the Chandni Chowk market but as well as it’s a heaven for the food lovers who love to try different and traditional cuisines. Visiting old Delhi not only give you chance to walk through its small and narrow streets to discover its hidden cultural treasure, as well as give you chance to have an experience of daily life of its people and  walk through the biggest spice market of Asia.
